GIBRALTAR AIRPORT
Gibraltar Airport (which is not part of Spain as a lot of readers pointed out) is a very unusual airport. To my knowledge, it is the only one where the runway actually intersects with a major highway. When a plane has to take off or land, traffic is shut down.

Thom Yorke Forms Band with Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers
Here’s an unexpected piece of news: Thom Yorke is set to collaborate with Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The two may appear to operate at polar opposite ends of the musical spectrum, but Yorke has recruited the bass player to appear in his band for a couple of shows in Los Angeles in October.
Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich will also join the group, which is filled out with roles for REM collaborator Joey Waronker and multi-talented Brazilian musician Mauro Refosco. The shows take place at the Orpheum Theatre on October 4 and 5.
“In the past couple of weeks I’ve been getting a band together for fun to play The Eraser stuff live and the new songs etc, to see if it could work!” he said on Dead Air Space. “We don’t really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz… well… we haven’t got that much material yet! But come and check it out if you are in the area.”
